PhD studies with dual supervision of dissertations (known under the French name cotutelle) takes place on the basis of cooperation between Charles University and a university abroad. Joint supervision of a dissertation is handled by two supervisors – one from each involved institution – and the student spends a part of the PhD programme at both institutions. This cooperation significantly contributes to promoting the internationalization of PhD studies, and in the long run, supports the involvement of science and research at faculties in an international setting.
