From the beginning of July this year, applications can be submitted for the scholarship offered by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to doctoral students with dual supervision of dissertations (so-called cotutelle). The scholarship is intended to finance a research stay at a state or state-recognised university in Germany.
Scholarships are awarded for up to 18 months, with the possibility of extending the scholarship for up to 6 months. Monthly payments for doctoral candidates during their stay in Germany are 1 200 euros. In addition, the scholarship can provide financial contributions for travel expenses, research expenses, language courses and more.
A valid cotutelle agreement between the home university and the cooperating German university is a condition for receiving the scholarship. If it is not in place at the time of application, it must be submitted before the start of the funding period.
Applications for the scholarship can be submitted until 15 November 2022 via the DAAD portal. The next scholarship period starts on 1 October 2023.
