The agreements about joint supervision of doctoral theses (“cotutelle”) are one of the forms of international cooperation that is becoming more and more sought after. It is so because this cooperation contributes not only to the internalization of doctoral candidates, but also to the networking of scientific teams of engaged higher education institutions. As one of the results of the ongoing collaboration within the 4EU+ alliance, Charles University and Sorbonne Université constructed a bilateral template agreement, which the president of SU prof. Jean Chambaz and rector of CU prof. Tomáš Zima validated by their signatures recently.
This document will serve to doctoral candidates of both universities who seek to enter into this kind of cooperation by reducing the formal process behind the construction of the individualized agreements, which serve as the basis for each case of this form of inter-university collaboration.
